Seastorm
Seastorm at Shipwreck Coast in Chessington World of Adventures Resort has been whipping up waves and laughter since its original debut back in 1995. Opening alongside major additions like Rameses Revenge, this classic attraction quickly found its place as a family favourite. Today, it continues to spin, splash, and delight a whole new generation of sailors.
Built by Mack Rides, Seastorm delivers a timeless ride experience with a nautical twist. However, it hasn’t stood still over the years. In 2022, the attraction received a full refresh as Pirate’s Cove transformed into Shipwreck Coast. As a result, the ride now sits perfectly within a chaotic harbour setting filled with wreckage and mystery.
According to the story, a powerful gale has rolled onto the coast. Therefore, brave adventurers must board their boats and face the churning waters. Yet, it’s not just the waves you need to worry about. Something lurks beneath the surface, adding an extra sense of danger to your voyage.
Once onboard, the ride springs into action. The central platform begins to rotate, while each boat rises and falls on rolling ‘waves’. Consequently, you experience a mix of spinning, bouncing, and swirling motion all at once. Meanwhile, the upbeat soundtrack and colourful boats keep the atmosphere lively and fun.
In addition, Seastorm received an updated ride programme for 2025. This enhancement brings fresh energy to the experience, with new movement patterns and pacing. Because of this, even regular riders can enjoy a slightly different journey each time they set sail.
Moreover, the ride’s open seating makes it ideal for families. You can share the experience, laughing as the boats twist and dip across the stormy sea. Unlike more intense attractions, Seastorm strikes a perfect balance between excitement and accessibility. As a result, you feel fully immersed in this windswept world.
Ultimately, Seastorm remains a true classic. However, with its refreshed setting and updated ride cycle, it feels more alive than ever.
