Minecraft World

Set to open in 2027, Minecraft World marks a bold new chapter for Chessington World of Adventures Resort, replacing Wild Asia with an entirely new experience. With a £50 million investment, the park pushes its biggest project ever and sets a new standard for future development.

Merlin Entertainments has partnered with Mojang Studios and Merlin Magic Making to bring Minecraft into the real world for the first time at a major theme park. As a result, the team has crafted every detail to match the game’s unmistakable style. From blocky landscapes to iconic biomes, guests will step straight into a living, playable world.

At the centre of the land, a world-first Minecraft roller coaster delivers the headline attraction. It blends indoor and outdoor sections to create a fast, unpredictable journey inspired by the game’s creativity. Meanwhile, the park will relocate Kobra, then transform and retheme it to fit seamlessly into the new environment. Therefore, returning riders can enjoy a familiar experience with a fresh identity.

However, Minecraft World offers far more than rides. Guests will explore interactive features, take on games and shape their own adventures throughout the land. In addition, mobs will appear across the area, bringing energy and surprise to every visit. Whether friendly or hostile, these characters will keep the world feeling alive.

Alongside this, a large restaurant will serve themed food and drink inspired by the Minecraft universe. Guests can also browse the world’s largest Minecraft shop, packed with merchandise and collectibles. Furthermore, creative play areas will encourage exploration, discovery and hands-on fun.

Ultimately, Minecraft World pushes Chessington into a new era. Not only does it introduce a global brand, but it also transforms how guests experience themed lands. As part of Project Round Table, Chessington Buzz will continue tracking progress with regular updates on its Projects Portal.
