Trawler Trouble
Trawler Trouble at Shipwreck Coast in Chessington World of Adventures Resort invites you to rock the boat and rescue a stranded crew from a disastrous voyage. Opening in 2022, this lively attraction filled a small plot once occupied by a basketball game. As a result, the area gained another interactive and energetic ride to complement its growing line-up.
However, Trawler Trouble didn’t start its journey at Chessington. In fact, this Rockin’ Tug ride by Italian manufacturer Zamperla has travelled far and wide. It previously operated at Thorpe Park, and before that, it entertained families at Weymouth SeaLife Centre. Now, it has dropped anchor at Shipwreck Coast with a brand-new story to tell.
According to the tale, the Captain and crew of a humble fishing trawler have run aground. Lured towards the rocks by a legendary mermaid, they now sit stranded among the wreckage. Therefore, it’s up to you to jump aboard and help rock the vessel free before it becomes part of the coastline forever.
Once you take your seat, the action begins almost immediately. The boat starts to sway from side to side, gently at first. Then, with each swing, the motion grows stronger. Consequently, riders feel the ship tilt and lift beneath them as the crew desperately tries to break free.
In addition, the theming ties perfectly into Shipwreck Coast. Weathered details, fishing gear, and coastal elements surround the ride. As a result, you feel fully immersed in this unfortunate crew’s story.
Unlike larger thrill rides, Trawler Trouble focuses on playful movement and interaction. This makes it ideal for younger adventurers while still offering plenty of excitement. Furthermore, its compact size fits perfectly within the busy harbour setting.
Ultimately, Trawler Trouble delivers a simple yet engaging experience. However, you’ll need teamwork and timing if you want to set this stranded ship free.
